Two men have been hurt after their light aircraft crashed in a field.

Police said the passengers, both in their 30s, were flying in the two-seater civilian craft when it came down in Anwick, near Sleaford, Lincolnshire, around 6pm.

The pilot suffered minor injuries and the passenger was taken to Lincoln County Hospital for treatment, Lincolnshire Police said.

Electricity cables were also hit, causing power failures in Anwick and the nearby village of Ruskington.

A force spokesman said: "Power lines have been hit in Anwick and possibly Ruskington.

"The local electricity board is on the scene and are trying to restore power.

"I can confirm that the pilot is walking wounded and the passenger has been taken to Lincoln County Hospital by ambulance."

The families have been informed, the spokesman added.
