I've been offered a 2nd hand (fairly new) BOSE-X headset for £500 (approx $1000USD).

Are headsets cheaper in the US ? I'll be there in November. What sort of price does a BOSE-X headset go for in the US ?

Bose generally cost around $1000 in the US new so that doesn't sound like a good deal to me! you might as well wait till the US and get a brand new unused pair!

I guess there's no compatibility problems ?

No, there is not.

Shop around and get it as a mail order, as you save the VAT if from out of state.

No. A headset is a headset. Although, if it comes with some kind of mains adapter you might need to check the plug or voltage compatibility for that.

You can always look on US websites to find out what they cost in the US, and even order from one, taking advantage of the great (for us) exchange rate.

Um...I think you might find there is a little matter of duty to be paid on these products if you bring them is from the States...or anywhere else for that matter, So, you might want to do some sums before hitting the "confirm" button.
