My girlfriend and I both work for Air Canada and we are planning to go to Europe next year. We were wondering if there are jumpseat possibilities with any airlines while travelling in Europe? She's a flight attendant and I'm a pilot btw.

No go here in europe... Need to be an employee of the airline, and even then it can be difficult!

You might have some luck in Italy, but you will not know for sure until the day. Ramp agent will ask the Captain on the day and you may be lucky. Depends.....

No problem on Italian airlines, to - from Italy and inner Italian. Just Ask at the check in desk and don't be discouraged if one sends you away (making sure you show your company ID). Best in uniform, but also without not really difficult. Make sure the ramp agent asks the Cpt. and say thanks to him personally.
I work for a non-Italian airline, speak no word of Italian and never had a problem, including several long flights with AZ and without uniform.
Have heard it's similar in Spain, but no first hand experience...

Yes Spain probably a good bet. No first hand experience but someone I know (an instructor on light aircraft) knew a first officer working on a spanish airline and got a jump seat ride for a full two sectors.........

We had a thread running about this topic on the Italian Forum. It is not always as simple as it used to be. Not all Captains would accept jumpseat passengers.

Sorry Jumpseating is not possible for non company employees, and remains very difficult. If you speak Spanish or Italian you 'may' be ok on internal flights.
I would love to offer you and your girlfirend the jumpseats but no can do!
I'm afraid we have the US to blame for this as they still have a blanket ban on any jumpseats into the US.
As an aside can I (UK Scheduled Carrier Capt) jumpseat with Air Canada?

Guess all the above highlights national differences, it varies from country to country and even Company to Company.
If you mean pitching up at an airport with just an ID and hoping to "thumb a lift", so to speak, then the answer is probably no.
On the other hand you hold Industry Discount tickets for a full flight and are hoping to squeeze onto a Cabin Jumpseat then you might be alright.
Finally if you are hoping for Flight Deck jumpseats then the UK airline answer is, sadly, "no".
