Compare to Spitfire Mk 1:

The Spitfire I weighed 5,280 lb. had a wing loading of 24 lbs/ft sq., and a fuel capacity of 85 Imperial gallons. Merlin II or III produced 1040 hp. Its maximum speed was 362 mph its maximum diving speed was 450 mph, its initial climb rate was 2,500 ft./min., and it took 9.4 minutes to climb to 20,000 feet. Its combat range was 395 miles and its roll rate was 140 deg/sec.

Toucan:

Wing Loading: 15.0lb/sq.ft.
Empty Weight: 1675lbs.
Gross Weight: 2550lbs.
Rate of Climb : 9500/fpm.
Roll Rate : 350 degrees/sec.
Horsepower : 750shp
Propeller : 4 blade composite 100” dia.
Fuel Capacity : 94 Gal. Jet-A
Thrust : 3300lbs.
600 Mile Range w/reserves

So power / weight are not far off equivalent. But RoC and roll rate claimed for the Toucan are astonishing!

I guess that 2nd wing limits the speed (drag) but gives loads of lift!
