Hi, cld someone pls tell me the difference between piston and jet powered a/c with regard to pich power couples? I thought piston a/c gave a nose up pitch when adding power, is this the same on a jet with engines under the wings?

Thanks

The older underwing types (e.g. 747) certainly have a pitch/power couple - newer stuff (e.g. 777) have some form of fancy compensation to reduce/ nullify the effect.

The trim change with power on ALL aircraft depends on the thrust line of the motor eg the Lake Buccaneer (http://cdn-www.airliners.net/photos/small/4/3/2/1240234.jpg) gives a nose down pitch with power (which makes putting on power near the ground interesting:))
