Sea-Plane Question...?

I was asked by my (non-pilot) brother, based in Croatia, about the following:

"Today, Xxx is trying to buy a sea plane for a client. There is a classic 12 seater ex Canadian service plane for sale here but is is very old, although apparently very low miles and mint.

Do you have any knowledge of this type of plane or where it is best to buy one."


Could anybody help me to help him?:confused:

Would type-ratings on the aircraft be a difficulty in Europe?

Buy one in Canada.......this one may be stolen .........there use to be a scam where guys would go around the world selling the same airplane........be careful ;)
