Lots of money & money & money for conversion! :ooh: The DCA Malaysia has no control for the pricing of training fees conducted by the schools.

Did my FAA CPL/IR, then S'pore ATPL (Frozen) then coversion in MFA.
Still need to fly 35 hours of twin (9M registered a/c), did M'sian Air Law I & II.

Hey there fair pilot

I am from Singapore myself and currently have got my Canadian licenses...Since you have done an FAA license and then did a Singapore ATPL,I wanted to know what are their requirements before you can sit for the Singapore ATPL.Any conversions required before doing the Singapore ATPL at all?or you can sit for the exam and receive a "frozen".

With a Singapore ATPL,what are the chances with Silk Air anyways?

Hello phrixus29, please refer to the links below. Hope won't put you-off after reading. :uhoh:

CAAS frozen ATPL / licence conversion - #9 (http://www.pprune.org/forums/showpost.php?p=3385555&postcount=9), #187 (http://www.pprune.org/forums/showpost.php?p=3159822&postcount=187), & #3 (http://www.pprune.org/forums/showpost.php?p=3153595&postcount=3)

What if everybody converted their licence to a CAAS one, do you think they have chances getting in SilkAir? :D

Want to spend own money do the conversion also cannot because all sorts of reasons...no place,we don't do abridge course...blah blah..

I approached HM Aero for my conversion about few months ago and i got shock of my life when they told that they don't do that!! How can they say such a thing when DCA ask all the foreign license holders go and approach any schools for the purpose of conversion.

The same thing goes for APFT.

And how the heck does the conversion going to take place?

You won't say such a thing if you are in my shoes. If you can't help then it's advisable to stay mute.

why u want to convert to msian license?.
if u not sure u will get a job here..
coz i think msian aviation industry not growing fast like other country..
and to many restriction..
if u have alot more than 500hours it still ok..
if freshie DCA wont count ur ME and IF..
so u already wasting ur money taking the endorsment and rating..
so think b4 u do any convertion..
:ok:
