I'm just wondering if anyone knows of any sites with basic info on a/c used by rpt companies around the world ie the boeing series, airbus, dash etc. just stuff like weight, thrust, engine types, cruising altitudes, dimensions and speeds. any help? preparing for interview.

Try www.airliners.net...
Fairly accurate but not always, as far as weights, altitudes or speeds...
xxx
As an example, if you asked me the maximum t/o weight of a 747-200, I shall say that it varies with specific model or airline options, some were only 775,000 lbs (351,534 kg) and some others, up to 833,000 lbs (or 377,842 kg), with between the two extremes, some dozen of weight variables... Same thing for landing weights, zero fuel weights etc...
xxx
Engines for 747, can be JT9D, CF6 or RB211, yet each of these engines have also a dozen option of thrust, from 43,500 lbs to 56,000 lbs... Fuel capacity is the same problem. depending on number of tanks installed, etc...
xxx
Many Ppruners say "742" when mentioning a 747-200... I call that a "travel agent" designation... for me, does not tell me anything... If you ask me for weights, fuel capacity or engines, of a 747-249F, or 747-287B, there, you become much more specific to which aircraft model...

thanks for the help. my life is now consumed with model numbers, speeds, engine manufacturers etc etc.
