Would someone kindly point me to the JAR reference of requiring 24 hours rest after 7 days duty. I have the FAA ( FAR) but not the JAR.

I do not think there is one as JAR-OPS subpart Q FTL has not been ratified. Try CAP 371 which is "Guidance for the avoidance of fatigue in flightcrew".
