just wondering after a question from a mate:
what would be the cost of refurbishing a typical regional airliner? Let's say an ATR42-300 that needs a new paintjob and new cabin interior (new seats, carpet, etc...) I estimated this at 15000€ for the paintjob and the same amount for 46 brand new seats... I am right?

Surely you don't need an abacus to figure that it would cost much more than 30,000 Euros!!! Especially if you were to replace the side panels and the overhead bins and reupholster or install new Recaro leather seats . . .etc.

The respray would not be as much as that as a typical 737 at Air Livery (SEN)is circa 10,000 sterling. You could indeed pay as much as you like for leather seats and would have to allow about 2000 + per seat. I doubt that anyone today would fit out an ATR in full leather.
