Anyone here perhaps a civilian ATC working in Cyprus???

I would like to know if Larnaca Approach is still procedural or do they now have radar. Another question is do the ATC's there work TWR/APP combined or is it seperate positions.

I could only find a really old website which I dont think has been updated for a couple of years where it says Larnaca approach would be getting new state of the art radar soon (this was in 2002).

I know that ACC is radar and based in Nicosia.

I am also interested in the working conditions / pay for working in Cyprus. If any cypriot ATC could PM me, I would really appreciate it. :ok:

From what I have been told today, Larnaca is Procedural Approach.

They're still planning to get a radar there.... Then then again they were planning to get it installed way before i started working as an ATCA in Cy.

The ATCO's at LCA do both the TWR/APP job :ok:.

Not sure on the working conditions/pay, although there is a requirement to speak Greek as well as the usual English, before they'll employ you.

Hope this helps.
