Heard Stirling flight 77(?) declaring an emergency today in Polish airspace at 11:41Z, cargo-fire. Made for Warsaw. We listened out on the Warsaw tower frequency and heard them on final some 20 or so minutes later. On our way back 2 hours later ATC in that sector told us that they got down ok. Any more news, anybody?
Glad you made it guys!! :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

Crikey when I read this I thought is was a late comment of daring do.

RAF Stirling over Poland - lots of flak - hit:eek: - cargo meant for resistance on fire - chaps put it out and return to blighty for tea and medals.

But no - nevermind

Yes, Sterling, sorry :hmm:

The Danish bunch.

Were very concise and calm on the radio, too.

All I'd like to know is whether it was an actual?

(Probably discussed to pieces in the Viking Forums, they of lusty maidens, etc.., or how does it go?)

No, nothing on the Nordic forum. Well, alot of talk about mjød and such, but nothing on the SNB incident.

No mention of it on the Danish equivalent of PPrune, neither in the Danish medias.

So back to square one...

Hi

That's that put to bed then, thanks! Hope I remain as calm if/when I have a fire indication, you certainly didn't sound too fussed over the R/T, if memory serves!

Glad to hear it was a non-event - and that the poor pooch didn't have to kick the bucket!

All the best,

Bug
