... if I bring my dog can we afford to live in a house with a garden on an FOs wage in HK? How far are the nearest houses from town? I know condos are the norm but want to avoid if possible - much rather make husband travel further to work and live in house! :O

Yes you can but only if you rent.
I am about 35 minutes from town by bus - 25 minutes by car (no traffic).

Thats good news - can you give me an idea of how much the rental would be on a small house? Also can you recommend any particular areas where we should be looking?

If you are the wife of a prospective Cathay Pilot why are you looking at FO wage in HK? There are no direct entry FO positions in HK.:confused:

You have a lot of research to do, please please ask more questions. You need to really know what you are getting in to. You sound nice, too nice to really want to work for a revolting company like CX. PM me if you want to know what my wife thinks of HK.
