Many thoughts with the family.

High voltage power lines are lethal - a sad reminder to all.

I have just viewed this on the local news, the registration concurs with it being a Europa ( G-HOFC) . It is in the Upfield farm area but the news indicated it was going to a different private strip , it is a very low lying area . Wreckage is strewn over quite a wide area.

Very sad indeed .

Two dead in light aircraft crash

One person has died and a second body has reportedly been found after a light aircraft crash in Monmouthshire.
It is believed that the aircraft was flying from Cornwall and hit a high-voltage power line at 1550 BST.
Part of the plane's wing ended up on a road and debris was strewn across fields near a Tesco distribution depot at Magor, two miles from the M4.
Rescuers later said a second body was found near the first. Air accident investigators are also at the scene.
A spokesman for Cardiff International Airport said a Europa type aircraft was flying from Bodmin to a small air strip at a farm, a few miles south west of Magor.
The air traffic control at the airport did get routine calls from the plane, but no Mayday emergency call.

Part of the aircraft's wing is across the carriageway of a road and there is debris in the field opposite and in an adjoining field.
More than 40 police officers have been at the scene, along with a police helicopter
It has been reported that eye witnesses saw something falling from the sky moments before the crash.
The aircraft is registered with the Civil Aviation Authority to a south Wales man.
One body was found at the scene, while rescue teams continued to look for a second person.
One of the search team said a second body was found in the evening, not far from the first body.
The Air Accident Investigation branch are at the scene and electricity supply company Western Power are examining a pylon. Three rescue helicopters were sent to the scene, along with a specialist police search team. Three roads leading to the distribution centre were cordoned off.
