Team,
Trying to find out whether there is an actual difference in terms of the ANO/CAA writings about them.
The reason for the question is to work out whether or not a supervising FI actually needs to be at the airfield to supervise an FI(R).
ANO says that AFI's must be supervised by an FI on the ground at the airfield for any t&g or landing. For FI(R) LASORS only says that the FI(R) must be supervised with no mention of where the supervisor may supervise from.
Does anybody else have further interpretations of this?
Regards

To all intents and purposes there is no real difference between the ratings. Therefore, what would you consider to be reasonable supervision and would your Insurers or a Court agree with you.

Have there been any 'lack of FI(R) supervision' incidents since JAR-FCL changed the rules?

I haven't heard of any.

So, current industry practice would seem entirely satisfactory.
