Just read the following link-
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/scotland/edinburgh_and_east/6687015.stm
Does anybody know what the problems were? Was it a Cumbernauld based aircraft?
Glad to hear both crew were okay.:)

Engine problems maybe? I didn't know of this incident until I read this post. Well done to EDI ATC for providing the help they did... and very good indeed to hear that both occupants are safe. Well done folks.:ok:

What's going on ?

Two days on - and there's no allegations, callsign, type of failure and crew details available on pprune ???

Useless ! :)

Glad no one got hurt, that's what really counts.

I know India-Mike posted this but the link doesn't seem to work. Some idiot has decided to set this aircraft alight. Link here (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/scotland/edinburgh_and_east/6690735.stm)

According to local newspapers it was a Cessna 182 with English pilots - so not Cumbernauld based. The pilots had apparently returned to England and were going to return for the aircraft but it was torched overnight by some mindless f*ckwits...

I bet those ****wits are getting really worried about the 100 hrs community service some equally ****wit magistrate will dish out when they are found.

***kers!

Sadly, uneducated fcukwits are something we have an oversupply of up here in bonny Jockistan.

Perhaps if punishments fitted the crimes committed, then these numbers would fall. No chance of that though. Great:(

Unbelievable! Very sad, and indeed angering. What an embarrassment.

Methinks castration by rotating propeller would be a suitable punishment.

Castration isn't good enough for mindless scum-bags like that, shoot them with dum-dum bullets.

But look on the bright side of things, at least there's one less Cessna in the world and everyone onboard was OK.

I'm not casting any aspertions or suggesting anything may be un toward, but many years ago a very very similar incident occured, lo and behold the aircraft was torched - by the very people who were flying it at the time - wanting, for whatever reason - to cover their 6 o clock.
I know we consider all our aviation bretheren to be beyond reproach, and I have no reason to think that this is nothing but a case of mindless vandelism....

There must be an aviation yobs unit operating in Fife, given that before you could say mayday G-BHDR was vandalised

and now this other one being set on fire overnight !

The Fife Constabulary haven't been able to comment, as at the time the special investigation unit was busy ordering a sausage roll in Greggs :)
