Is there any special reason for the BA 757's to have the small black ring around the radome as opposed to a completely black radome.
I guess it is cosmetic as it seems to be unique to BA.

I understand it's to enable it to carry out an MLS (microwave landing system) approach but seeing as I don't fly for BA I can't confirm that 100%. We don't have them on our 75s.
Perhaps somebody within BA could confirm that.....
