Those on trial - are they ATCOs or management? If they are ATCOs and found guilty I wonder what the impact on ATCO attitude might be.

I believe it involves ATC staff & Management (ATS & Engineering). I heard a rumour the 2nd person (ATC) on the night shift ,might be one of those indicted...but that is only a rumour. For the sake of all of ATC , I hope not.

We've seen ATCO on trial after a serious incident at AMS, a few years ago (Delta 767 had to abort a take-off at high speed due to crossing KLM tow; one controller had cleared the 767 for take-off, another had simultanously given crossing clearance to the tow).

Surprise, surprise: since that incident, the number of reported ATC occurrences has decreased, and the justice department considered that a great success. :ugh: I guess I should feel safer now. :mad:
