Scientific Calculators in PPL Exams?

This is a question for people who have done their Irish JAR-PPL written exams recently. Do the IAA issue scientific calculators in the flight performance and planning exam and if not what type of calculator do they provide? I would be very greatful for a answer as I am doing my exams on Friday(May 4th).

Not recent experience....I did my IAA PPL exams in 2002, and at that time, no calculators at all were allowed, if I remember correctly.

Whoever did your ground school should be able to tell you ;)

Did mine last summer. You are provided with a calculator and you cannot bring in your own. I dont know what type it was but I dont think that it really makes much of a difference. I didnt find any major difficulties with switching between my usual one and the one in the exam. If you're good with the whizz wheel there isn't much need for the calculator anyway.
