Hello ,
There is a question about why/how an airport shares the same ICAO code as its FIR , the FIR in question being DELHI VIDF , airport Pithoragarh (VIDF) .. any info would be appreciated ...thanks

That would probably if the centre os located at the airport, and would be clarified by the suffix of the address, ie

VIDFZTZX - Tower
VIDFZQZF - Centre (If memory serves me)
VIDFYTYR - Route Charges
VIDFZPZX - Flight planning

Can't remember the ICAO doc number but the locator code/decode book should explain all.

ICAO moved away from having the same code for an airfield and FIR many years ago. Are you sure Delhi Pithoragarh is VIDF? It is not listed in ICAO Doc 7910.

All it lists is
Delhi (FIC) VIDF
Delhi (Safdarjung) VIDD
Delhi/Indira Ghandi Intl VIDP
