Where are these filters located and how often are they changed?

Depends on which Airbus aircraft type and whom operates it and what type of filter used.
If Hepa filters are used interval is normally longer than using non Hepa filters.:ok:

I was interested in non-fbw airbus aircraft.I flew one recently that smelt oily on take off.

Oily smell on takeoff sound more like a sick engine problem. Get engineering to look in the bleed ducts on the engine for oily residue.

Could also be a sick APU fouling the ducts before takeoff.

Filters don't normally give an oily smell, they are only there to remove dust.

Maybe if you let us know the aircraft type some of the engineers on here can relate past experiences!:)

A300/310 family.Do they have hepa filters?
I believe there is an Airbus SIL about oil contamination,does anybody have a link or can send me a copy?

Yes "Tubby" the A300 you fly have Hepa type filters and they are in the cabin above the ceiling panels.:ok:

How often do these filters get replaced?Do you have a copy of the airbus sil?
