Is it me or does anyone else smell something rotten?? :ooh: Why would a "VVIP" airline be using a free email address like Gmail? sound's squirrelly to me.....

17th Apr 2007, 09:09
Well, if they are paying U.S.$ 10.000, wouldn't mind to apply for the position; too bad they only accept female cabin crew otherwise it'd be a good chance for all of the B-767 guys (including me of course). God help us all mates!!!!!:yuk:

17th Apr 2007, 19:06
GAGing in bahrain,

I wouldnt describe KALAIR as an airline as they only operate the 767, its therefore not surprising that they dont have a HR department to control applications, using a GMAIL address, they can cancel it as soon as they have recruited the required person.

Are they really paying $8k?

Hey everyone,

Here's some info abut Kalair I can give you with %100 certainty....

*Kalair is a private aviation company which is wholly owned and serves the personal aviation needs of one of the leading members of the Saudi Royal Family, who is also a member of the Saudi government. The crew carry HRH and his immediate family all over the world to various destinations

*The salary for trial is £3500.00 per month, if offered a full time position a salary will be discussed with you that will exceed this amount. This salary is paid directly into your bank account every month even though you will only work six months of the year. The crew members also have full BUPA medical insurance which covers you world wide. You will be permitted to have one free phone call home per week or per new destination and all laundry cost will be covered by the company

*The crew all leave airside together and book in to a five start hotel until their next duty which could be anything form one day to two/three weeks

*The uniform that the girls wear is a black trouser suit, if selected for a trial you will be required to provide your own suit and if offered a full time position all uniform requirements will be provided for you which will also include luggage.

Hope this helps!

:ok:I completed a trial for Kalair last year, I didnt get offered a full time position but a girl who worked after me did (lucky her). The experience I gained there helped me secure a job with another company. I was told at the interview that it may only be for a month which I took at face value. They are a very professional company to work for, I would jump through hoops to get a full time position with them. The salary is £3500 for the months trial which goes up to £4200 if you get a full time contract, we also got fantastic tips. There is nothing that I can personally say against this set up, any negative feed back I have read must be from those wannabes who either didnt get a trial or offered freelance work which I hear they are now recruiting for, sounds like sour grapes to me!!! Since joining the private sector I have worked for a few companies who advertise the same benefits as Kalair but once you join they fall back on their promises, not paying on time, lowering the salary and asked to wear ridiculous uniforms which bearly cover your backside. I would say if any of you get a chance of a months work go for it, some of the girls I know have been called back many times on a freelance basis and from what I hear those are the ones who have been offered full time jobs.:D

Hi
I got Kalair's recruitment e-mail address from aviation job search, it is [email protected] HR Manager is Helen Cobb. The address previously printed was an error from the web site host, I contacted them and they gave me the correct address.
I was interviewed in London by Helen at the Sheraton Hotel in Knightsbridge, she apparently has been with the company for 15 years or so, she was very nice, it was all very relaxed but she certainly grilled me, certainly not a push over!!!. Good luck, I see they are now looking for chefs.

olly Mc Bride

Yes I admit it did sound a bit dodgy but I contacted the web site host and they said it was an error on their side. The correct address is [email protected] good luck to anyone contacting them they are well worth the persuit.

Hi Olly,

I sent my application into Kalair on the 22nd of Dec and sent another follow up letter on the 6th of Jan. I still haven't heard anything back. Does this mean my chances are no longer good or do they just take a while to respond. I notice the ad says that interviews are in London in Jan, should I give up? I really want this job but would it be too much if I sent her another follow up letter?

I'm applying for the chef position. Do you know what specifics they are seeking for the position?

Any information, tips, or suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks you so much!

FLYING CHEF

I know of some people who have been interviewed and although the company name was not mentioned, the set up is as they described so I am sure it is the same.

I believe the interview is pretty intense, and the guys who were successful were asked to prepare a meal (3 courses) with different mains I think. There was not much in the way of direction for this and I think the aim was to prepare international cuisine and not arabian orientated. This was eaten by the interveiwer and her husband and they reviewed and critisised what was prepared.

The standard appears to be extremely high. I think those that were successful (towards end 2008) were going to be offered a temporary position and if successful, taken on permanently. The guys I know all had steady jobs and the lure of the position and salary was tempered by the fact that at the end of the trial period if not successful it would have been back looking for work.

Sorry it is not more informed, hope it is of interest.

Hi Guys,

I have been working as a premium crew in Dubai and very much interested to go for a good private jet. Actually want to do 1 month off and 1 month off or something similar. I spent 3 years in VVIP in KSA hence know the market there very well.

If you are adamant about working for Al Walid bin Talal then contact KHC in RUH, I probably have some direct contacts there but I'll need to sift trhrough 1000s of business cards that are all in various bags!

I would strongly urge you to speak to people there, he is very particular about this staff, their appearance, boots etc nevertheless many FAs there are very happy.

You'd need to like RUH though as word is he is reducing his travel at present.

Why him in particular, trhere are many operators out there?

Dear AbuKa,

Thanks very much for your reply:)

I would love to contact with that people you have advised but I am not sure in which way I should contact. Through phone, mail or?? Also I do not have any contact numbers or adresses:sad:

I would very much appreciate if you can find some contact people for me:confused:

Besides, I know lots of other private jets probably there but I am curious of royal family, very interested to work for a really different atmosphere and I am always a big fan of him from TV and news:O

Can you help??

I'll see what I can dig up, but it may take some time!

In the meantime try contacting his HQ in RUH +966 1 211 1111 they should put you through to aviation division or give you the number. Hope you are think skinned as he is very particular on the sorts of FAs he wants in the cabin.

Do you have VVIP experience already?

How about NJME? I used to work with them and the rotation for FAs is great?

Also try NAS and Sam Air in RUH the former operate many RF aircraft (NAS Applicant System - Login (http://www.nasaviation.com/nasjobs/login.asp)), the latter operate for a senior Prince though I'm unsure as to where they recruit from, try Zenon and the other usual resources

I notice that Kalair have an advertisment for cabin crew on aviation job search web site. They are looking for temp and freelance crew. I heard from a friend that they have recruited one full time chef apparently the head chef from Buckingham Palace!!! The standard for this company is very high but hey they are the best payers so they can afford to recruit the best!
There seems to be a change over in crew as one of the crew members is getting married and another returned to Aussie. My pals have applied and one of them has an interview set up for London, she did make sure she sent in a really prof picture of herself which may have helped. good luck everyone!:ok::D:ok:

Hi guys!

Anybody has any information about Kalair? Is it a safe operator? How is the conditions, especially salary? Where is the base and is it like a month on and off schedule?

fernhen
15th May 2009, 02:21
The work conditions for Kalair are probably the best in the private sector. They work one month on and one month off, starting salary is around 3.500 British pounds, the senior girls are on 5K per month AND it is TAX FREE. They get flown business class to and from work AND I heard they get good tips. oh and they also state they get Bupa medical insurance. The girls that get offered a full time position and who have been there a while all own their own houses and are on to buying 2nd properties abroad. Ive heard that the principal is really nice but very picky and that the girls are all like family which makes a change from the cut throat companys that most of us seem to work for!

The thing to remember about KALAIR or any other Mid-East VVIP Op is never mention the name of the "principal"...

Everyone "in the know" knows already knows who he is, and his name doesn't need to be mentioned...

As a veteran of 4 yrs + of VVIP PIC flying, take my advice...it's a great life, the company mentioned I believe used to be flying what was "THE" Kingdom aircraft and it was the job to have...they probably are still known as that...

Don't mention names...especially that of the "Principal"...and BTW...never talk about your adventures to hotel clerks or bartenders...."Loose lips sink ships"...

Have a look at this webpage....

Photo Search Results | Airliners.net (http://www.airliners.net/search/photo.search?aircraftsearch=&airlinesearch=&placesearch=&countrysearch=&adv_remark=&photographersearch=&emailsearch=&regsearch=hz-wbt7&cnsearch=&codesearch=&datesearch=&id=&yearsearch=&specialsearch=&specialsearch2=&sort_order=photo_id+desc&page_limit=15&thumbnails=&advanced_search=true&engine_version=6.0)

Then considering that these are countries where photography is permitted, draw you own conclusion about how much this aircraft flies :)

Hi

Anyone has any kind of info on majestic wings based in dubai? All I found were some news articles and their web page which is under construction. Dubai World Central Aviation City - Majestic Wings Private Airplane Charter - {Travel Daily News} (http://www.traveldailynews.com/pages/show_page/26147-UAE-company-to-establish-FBO-at-DWC-Aviation-City)).

How about faisal aviation based in sharjah? I know there is another thread on this on pprune, but not much info to glue together.

Also, a bit confused:confused:....Is palm aviation a charter company (as mentioned on wikipedia) in dubai or merely a brokerage company as I gathered from their website?
