It’s Changed, It’s more relaxed, It’s Easier

The Jersey International Air Rally has become

THE JERSEY FLY-IN!

Saturday 26th & Sunday 27th May 2007

Every one has to have a PPR number as parking is restricted. You can come for a few hours, the whole day or the week-end. There will be food available all day both Saturday & Sunday and a buffet dinner on Saturday night with our “resident” DJ Clive Pearce.

There are a few competitions left over from the old Rally:

SAFETY & AIRMANSHIP

NARROW SQUEAK
The idea is to position your aircraft between 2 poles as closely as possible without, of course, touching.
Points will be awarded according to the distance between wing tips and poles.
On arrival in the parking area of the Jersey Aero Club, you’ll be met by the marshal who will direct you towards the 2 poles. On his signal, you must stop, engine running. One pole will be fixed, the other held by the marshal.
Signal to the marshal where you want his pole positioned. Then you taxi between the 2 poles and stop again. No further movement of the pole is allowed.
After measurements are taken, you may then taxi for parking

AVIATION QUIZ
A set of questions will be handed to you on arrival in the clubhouse

CONCOURS D’ELEGANCE
The judges will be looking at the general condition of the aircraft both externally & internally. The aircraft will be scrutinized on arrival & should not be cleaned or groomed prior to being judged.

RANGE & ENDURANCE
Marks for this competition will be given (according to the judges’ opinion) for the greatest achievement based on distance flown and flying hours logged from 0400 hrs UTC on Friday 25th May 2007. Due consideration of aircraft type, aids carried, crew experience, routing, flight rules and in-flight conditions will be taken into account
To be entered in the competition, the pilot must supply us with stamped flight plans (if at all possible), navigation logs covering the sections to be considered and any other information that might help the judges’ decision. Please ensure that your fly-in number/registration is on all the documents.

INTER-CLUB
This will be awarded to the club with the highest average score for the Narrow Squeak, the Concours d’élégance and the Range and Endurance competitions. To qualify, a minimum of 3 aircraft must be entered.

LOW HOUR ENTRANT
Awarded to the crew with the least total flying hours (All licence holders must be declared & log books produced)

CAR TREASURE HUNT
(Organized by Janine Buckley from Incentive & Conference Specialists)
For those of you who wish to discover our beautiful island. The treasure hunt can be done on Saturday afternoon.
(All to be held on Saturday)
Prizes on Saturday Night at the dinner (my personal advice is do not flight plan for at least Sunday evening).

I know many will be thinking of going to France or a UK venue, so why not bolt the Jersey Fly-In onto your flight plan?

No Landing Fees for the Fly-In, No Admin Fees, VAT Free Fuel.

Stop by outbound & stop by inbound, stay over Saturday or Sunday Night, why not Monday (If you’re the boss).

I don't understand this. You have informed us of fly-ins in the past with no bother, why flap about this....? :)
