I am a 40 years old Canadian Citizen. Have about 1500 hours from foreign military experience, including Mig-17, Mig 19 and T-37 and some propeller. More than 1000 hours PIC.
I have not flown since last 10 years, was working in IT filed with BS in Information Systems.
I desperately want to get back in flying my first love (went through a :( divorce, nothing to look forward in life)
What are the prospects of getting a flying job and what kind
Is there any hope for me to get into airline industry?
How is foreign military experience viewed by employers?
Should I get CPL or ATPL in Canada?

Any responses, guidance or advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanking you in anticipation.

Frank

I heard last year about a former East Bloc military pilot (mig-21, mig-29) about your age flying with Air Creebec, on... Embraer 110
I guess he pretty much had to start all over at the bottom of the ladder. Also his progression should be fast.

So yes, it's possible but not without your Canadian CPL/ATPL.
