Hello everybody,

A friend of mine needs to do a DC-8 type rating, the problem is he's got a JAR licence and I can't think of any DC-8 TRTO.

Any ideas ?

Thanks in advance,

Og

Strange as it may seem, and I know they are not 'popular' as a freight company, but you should try MK Airlines at Landhurst, near Gatwick. They have fairly recently received a UK AoC, but not for their DC8s which are all in Africa. The DC8 sim was housed at their Landhurst HQ and they MAY have one/some of their UK licensed instructors 'ticked up' on it. Try it, if they can't help then they may be able to give you a steer in the right direction.

Try Jet Aviation in Zurich, I think they still had DC-8 rating in their TRTO last year so may be it is still the case.

Hi

Try calling Avient Ops LGW as they are using ST-UAA on flights and would be able to send you in the right direction.

Isn't there an outfit in Spain called Cygnus Air operating 2 or 3 DC-8 freighters?

I think Cygnus at Madrid Barajas are phasing out the Douggy 8's and replacing them with the 757?
