Can anyone offer advice on which would be more valuable. I have a C-130(L382G) (F.O.)rating and get a good schedule and 400 hours a year, I may have an opportunity to have a temporary position on a B737-200(F.O.) with a less desirable schedule and +-750 hours. I will return to my Herc position at the end. Money is nearly the same and not an issue. I work in North America and would like to continue here or maybe end up with a Middle East or Asian carrier. Does anyone care about B737-200 ratings these days???

Thanks,
Sefo.

Stick with the Herc.
A proper airplane, with straight wings and propellers.:E
The best fun I've had is flying another Lockheed varient...the Electra.
The 1649 Constellation wasn't bad, either.

Well said 411A. Not only is the herc a blast to fly, but will not hurt you at all in landing any job in the region you want to work. The only way I would consider doing the 73 gig is if I was planning to fly regional or if you can built PIC time faster that way.

OK I am the opposite. You say you might want to end up in the Middle East, or Asia. Check out how many jobs there are there for B737 pilots or jet pilots, and compare that with the number of jobs on offer for C130 pilots or turboprop pilots. Still not convinced? Go to ppjn and compare potential salaries for B737 pilots aginst salaries being paid for turboprop pilots.
The Herc. may be great fun, but I note your age as 31, so time to get on with it, and the jet job wins every time.
Just my 2 cents.

The Herc is fun and I have heard that some of the Middle East airlines consider Herc time as jet time, but the 737 is real jet time. I have until the 23rd to apply to the bid. Thanks for the advise so far.
