JAR PPL impossible to re validate in France?

Having just moved to France, I enquired to the CAA how should I get my Class 2 medical renewed. The response was that France does not issue Class 2 medicals and they gave me a link for countries where AME's reside. Useful places like Nigeria amd Bahrein. So what does one do ? I mistakenly thought that JAR meant European validity. Is it the CAA that's not playing Euro rules or my new homeland. Any one else had this problem?

You have a UK issued JAR PPL (A) that requires a JAR Class 2 medical. France do not issue JAR Class 2 medicals.

There's your answer as to who isn't playing by JAR rules . :ugh:
