So when the Qantas A380's arrive, what happens to the 747/400's? Or will the A380's go direct to Jetstar?

Not a windup. Just curious if the A380's are going to replace the 747's.

QF's fleet of 747s are reasonably new, so doubt the A380 will replace them as such..,.

B747-300s will go as soon as first 380s arrive. Older -400s (OJA nearly as many hours as youngest Classic) will gradually be phased out as additional 380s are delivered. The -400 retirement rate will depend on capacity requirements, which in turn will depend on how many destinations are left to Qantas when Jet* get their 787s. My guess is London and LAX...

What about 747-800's?

No set up tooling costs.
Bugger all training costs.
No airport restictions.
Similar seat mile costs.
etc etc

Ah yes,
That dreadful 4" thick "inefficient" long haul award.
God knows how Qantas has ever made any money with that award in place!
