Anybody heard that on 14.02 QR A300 had close 'meeting' (the same altitude?)with military aircraft over Iraq? & had to descent rapidly. Possible? Is any other airlines flying over Iraq? :ooh:

If yourDREAM does actually have their facts correct, then surely a near miss and/or rapid descent can't be called a "non-event"!!!!!

Unless things have changed, flying civvy pax jets through Iraqi airspace is no big deal, flight plans Ok'd through RAMCC. If this is so I would guess it could be possible that a conflict with mil traffic may have occured given the volume of the latter. Who would investigate such an incident?

They were just sent up to make sure the R1 wasn't serving orange juice to the cockpit on the A300 and to make sure that Popay was wearing his hat whilst using the lav. (sic.)
