Id like to acompany my learning with software to make the learning process more intresting. At the moment im reading pooleys book 1 and 2 but Id like to test my knowledge interactively. I have noticed that there are a fair few programs out there and wondered if anyone could recommend one in particular. They also seem pretty pricey so id be looking for one that isnt half the price of a practical lesson.

Hi, I struggled with the books, and saw & purchased the Oxford Aviation Training CD's, I find them so much easier to understand, than the books
passed AirLaw, Human Performance , Aircraft General first time, with no problems, I also purchased the RT CD's and Practical Flying Training
which shows in visual form, each lesson, so you can study every detail before the lesson, saves a lot of time.
I believe that OAT have a demo type CD that they send out, so you can see if, this type of study is for you.
Oh I do not work for OAT or have I received any financial incentive
best money I ever spent !

thanks for the feedback on the oxford stuff. i did have a look and was weary about getting it cos of the price but i think il take a look at the demo and prolly get it if i like it. at the back of my mind im still windering if the £200 wud be better spent on another lesson and sum groundschool though..

I used the OAT disks too... Yes they are expensive, but a very helpful tool if you ask me. They present the subjects in a very clear manner, animate various topics (Great for aircraft technical) and you can go over the bits you really don't get again and again and again... without paying for any more ground school or frustrating your instructor! (Although my instructor was amazingly patient with me - legend)

I am planning on heading down the ATPL route and am seriously considering the other CD's they produce...

Again, I don't work for them, I just have my opinion :)
