Hello, acc. http://www.redbullairrace.com also this year there will be (for the third time) the aerobatic racing show "Redbull Air Race 2007". One who informs himself on the internet will see that all dates incl. location are fixed already with exception of EUROPE, there are some aircraft noise initiatives against it yet. Though it is clear, that both summer appointments in the EC will be in London and in Switzerland. (But: The sequence could be CH - UK, too, as a call to Red Bull today could clear).
My idea was to get there with a larger group of pilots and aviation enthusiasts. Evtl. only qualifying or only race itself or both days. Evtl. you get an interesting group discount when traveling as a "crowd". IN CASE OF all together more than 30 ppl or even more wanna go Switzerland for spotting in July, the chartering of a bus would be worthwhile. Start of the namely bus shall be the region of Vienna, Austria. From there (depending on where the event will happen finally in Switzerland) ppl could be picked up in Linz, Salzburg, Tulln, St. Pölten, Ybbs, München, Bad Toelz, Bregenz, Kaernten, Allgaeu West, Bodensee, St. Gallen, Zuerich, Liechtenstein, Schaffhausen, Fricktal, Basel, etc. This way it´s surely less expensive, more relaxed and more fun than a whole lot of travels to and from with your cars.
As I did not get significant positive replies from my former flying clubs at the Mosella, in the Black Forest and near Vienna I wanted to use this forum to inform a bigger audience about my plan.
Well: Get on your keyboards and write a mail 2: marina_dotteck [at] arcor.de subject "Red Bull Air Race" or reply right here if you wanna come along stating location of embarkation, disembarkation, requested time of stay at the race and # of ppl.

Hallo, lt. Internetseite http://www.redbullairrace.com findet auch dieses Jahr wieder (zum 3. Mal) die Kunstflug - Renn - Luftveranstaltung "Redbull Air Race 2007" statt. Wer sich im Netz informiert, sieht, dass die Termine dort samt Event Locations stehen außer für Europa, dort gibt es bei einem Ort in der Schweiz Lärmschutzbedenken. Dennoch ist klar, dass die beiden Sommer - Termin in der EU in London und irgendwo in der CH sein werden (Reihenfolge evtl. aber auch CH - UK, wie ein Anruf beim Getränkehersteller Red Bull heute ergab).
Meine Idee war, dort mit einer großen Gruppe Piloten und Flugbegeisterter hinzureisen. Evtl. nur Qualifying oder nur Rennen oder beide Tage. Evtl. bekommt man beim Eintritt zu mehreren einen interessanten Gruppenrabatt gewährt. Falls sich insgesamt ca. 30 Leute oder gar mehr im Juli in die Schweiz zum Zuschauen begeben wollen, würde sich sogar die Organisation eines Busses lohnen. Start des Busses soll Region Wien, Österreich sein. Von dort aus könnte man (je nachdem wo´s denn nun endgültig was wird in der CH) "Trupps" abholen in Linz, Salzburg, Tulln, St. Pölten, Ybbs, München, Bad Tölz, Bregenz, Kärnten, Allgäu West, Bodensee, St. Gallen, Zürich, Liechtenstein, Schaffhausen, Fricktal, Basel, etc. Ist sicher billiger entspannter und lustiger als tausende Anfahrten allein mit dem Auto.
Da ich bis jetzt von meinen ehemaligen Flugvereinen an der Mosel und im Schwarzwald / bei Wien nur homöopathisch dosierte Rückmeldungen erhalten habe wollte ich meine Idee hier mal einem größeren Publikum "unterbreiten".
Also: (erstmal ganz unverbindlich) ran an die Tasten und Mail schreiben an marina_dotteck [at] arcor.de Betreff "Red Bull Air Race" oder hier im Forum schreiben wenn ihr mitwollt (bitte Einsteigeort nennen und Dauer Aufenthalt RBAR07 und Leute die mitkommen wollen).
