One for the spotters amongst you.
Parked last night at Sharjah, and two Indian Airlines A320s pulled up in fairly quick succession. The first one I wasn't sure what it was, but the second removed doubt because it had "Airbus A320" painted on the side. What was confusing me was that these aircraft had four wheel bogies for their main u/c:confused:
Is this a special IA config or are they quite common?

Hi BizJetJock,

This was a special config for Indian Airlines. They had 4 wheel bogies to cope with rough strips that can be found in India.

Cheers :)

Sounds crazy. With all that extra weight wouldn't Airbus be better off fitting trailing link gear for just two wheels (i.e. BAe146/RJ series)? Should work just as well.
