View Full Version : Offset track/formation flying

Saw a nice bit of "formation" flying tonight. Kept my 4 year old twins happy for at least 10 mins, thanks. Couldn't really see what they were other than passenger jets of some sort travelling at exactly same speed. They appeared to be at the same height but I know that's impossible to judge from the ground (they looked a lot closer than it appears from the photo). Nice synchronised turns as well. Pictures were taken on a mobile phone from a car so not best quality!

Heading slightly north of west crossing the A1 around Peterborough.

I agree, difficult to tell, but it appears to me the one on the inside of the turn is the lower.
Nice pics.

Yes, I thought that when I got the pics out of the camera. On the spot they looked much closer to the same height.
