I am a fairly low hours PPL 120 + .I have just been in Sydney for a few days, what with jet lag etc.I was awake early on Sunday morning.Found an advert for Bankstown airport, took a train out there, and found
an excellent and very friendly:) flying club on Tower Rd.
Very soon I was fixed up with a PA28 a flying instructor, filed a flt plan
for the Harbour Bridge and off we went.I had a wonderful 90 mins a tour
over and around the city, with an excellent instructor. The views were
amazing,I had a great lesson in Aussi procedures, all for £120 inc landing
fees,fuel surcharge.and my log stamped.
So if you ,get the chance do it,dont forget your licence and log

A few years back I rented a TB20 from Basair at Bankstown and went up the east coast as far as Townsville.
A great trip but if you are thinking of going that far then you need to adress the issue of staying alive and being found if you have a forced landing, untill you have flown in Australia you won't understand just how big the place is and how few people live away from the coastal strip.
