Heard that VARIG (Star Alliance) Pilots started an industrial action against the company. Already several heads rolled down hill...those of the heads of APVAR (VARIG Pilots Association).. .Things aren't looking good down there at the moment.

If anyone has(or can give) more detailed info about it would be good.

Good Luck to them.

Varig.s pilots are trying to stop the transfer of its flights to the low-cost regionals RioSul and Nordeste. In consequence of such transfers, many pilots are now on unpaid leaves, and Varig's fleet has been greatly reduced.

Apvar was working on a new agreement with Varig, but management abandoned the negotiating table.

A "Non Colaboration" movement was initiated, causing several delays. In response, Apvar's president, vice presidents and board of directors were laid off, among many other pilots

I think major disruptions are to follow very soon
