Hello all,

can somebody tell me if the G450 has more space in the Cockpit then in the GIV?

How about salary what is the norm in europe for a command job on a G450?

Tx

Hi Markus109,

A G450 is basically a G4 with upgraded engines, EVS and the „plane view“ cockpit of a G550.
Salary very much depends on your experience. As a rule of thumb, salaries rise from east to west in Europe (i.e. in Austria you’ll get the lowest pay check and in the UK the highest).:ugh:

cheers,

I think the G400 series has a larger/longer cockpit than the older GIV`s. About a foot longer?

Markus, I reckon you are now flying left seat on the Chally. Just wondering is the Cirrus captain´s pay so much below standard like the F/O´s pay? Isn´t Cirrus interested in keeping their experienced staff?

Hello,

unfotunatly it is.
Thats the reason why alot of the pilots are running away now.
The last question i cant awnser you, normaly they should have an interest to keep the good staff.
Maybe someday they will wake up.
Hopefully.

@wondering: they offered me a 4 year bond, starting salary 4500€ BEFORE taxes (in Germany that is roughly 2300€ if not married, no kids). I applied for a job on the Chally or GLEX (was advertised) a few months ago but was offered Lear 40/45 with mentioned T&C´s. I had little over 6000hrs, 5000+ PIC on Turboprop / Jet / Glasscockpit and several active typeratings (none of their fleet...) at the time.

Went on a Challenger with free T/R and more than 1000€ more net.

They will discover that they salary isn´t hjgh enough, me thinks...

pretty said what you posted. tell me.. that's the truth? just wondering 'cause for the freelance I usually do over in Europe it does not really matter where and for whom. They all pay more or less the same to us and must admit not to bad. So I shall be happy to work fulltime back home I guess.

yeah the G450 is quite a nice machine and once you are in the cockpit you don't really feel any size difference since there is almost none in the cockpit but hey its all in your head..... I usually felt claustrophobic in 450 cockpit... compared to my usual 550 but guess I should see a shrink about it.

The 450 has the same legroom as the V/550. It's nowhere near as short on legroom as the IV.

For systems study, google "Smart cockpit". They have a lot of the systems info.
