My contact reports that the Saudia request was for twice weekly B777 via Geneva.
In at 1030Z and out again 1230Z on a Monday and Friday.
I'll believe it when I see it !!

Looks like MAN wont be seeing the 777 from CO. They didnt get PVG, so they had 2 777's to spare, but man is staying 2x 757-200's! BRU get a 777, GVA gets a 767-400 and DUB goes from 2 757's (one via SNN) two one 762 direct, and one 757 via SNN!

I understand that Dragonair cease to operate under their own flight numbers with effect from 1st February. KA535/535 becomes CX039/040 - not 100pc certain of the new CX numbers.

Think you're wrong on that. I'll find out for definate and get back to you. It's all to do with routes/slots or something, the routes are KA's not CX's just as CX's routes are not KA's.

Anyway the KA 747's are being replaced by their 747-400's from the summer on that route.

On the MAN LPL issue.

I would much rather fly from MAN with BA,LS,ZB or WW to Europe and NOT pay extra charges than fly for a 'penny' plus excessive extras with FR and EZY at LPL.

MAN has better connections across the globe, better demand and excellent facilities, especially on the internal flights.

For example:

VLM: Started with 5 times daily from LPL - now twice daily.
MAN will operate 12 times daily later this year - MAJOR DIFFERENCE!
Add the other carriers that fly to London from the MAN: BA,BMI,LS and AB. To become a great airport, the internal and international connections need to be in place and operating efficiently - LPL struggles in the domestic sector.

BLK offers THREE times more seats to LON than LPL! This shouldn't be happening!

Another example:

BE stated that a new base would be opened at LPL for many domestic flights. Now it operates weekend flights from Belfast.

If LPL could start to grab more Long Haul and Domestic routes, and put less effort into the European routes, then maybe they can be classed in the same league as MAN.

Long way to go for LPL to compare at all to MAN.
