View Full Version : Dial-in ATIS number

AltFlaps

Hi All,

I've come across several 'dial-in' ATIS numbers over the years. These are very useful on a drive in to work on a bad weather day, or where you need the lastest met when down route ...

Listed below are the ones I know of ... I'm sure there are many more.
If you know of any - please list them below.

Cheers

Delete the SOU ATIS, it only operates immediately before airport opening and for half an hour after opening, so weather is available for the first departures of the morning. Thereafter it is available throught normal sources, including the internet.

Do I notice that Luton, alone, has put the ATIS on an extortionate-rate 0906 telephone number ..... typically about £1.50 a minute. Everybody else has just put it on a normal phone number.

You'll find many more ATIS phone numbers on page 14 here :

To those who have an iphone, theres this app called Airports that has all sorts of info about airports, including ATIS phone numbers. Quite useful.

I am just playing catch up and see EMA is on one of those 0906 numbers these days - anyone know if there is an internal number still to go via the normal airport number? - thanks for any help.

These days, rather than phoning the individual numbers, I find it quicker (and cheaper) to use a free "app" on my phone to obtain METARS and TAFS.

For some reason EGKK / LGW does not have an ATIS Via Phone..

Only on Airband VHF!

Not very helpful for based Handling Agents and Airlines unless you have a scanner in your office! :ugh:

Winter Runway Conditions and Braking Action Reports are almost impossible to obtain here!

Unfortunately, some airfields do seem to be a bit slow.... ;)

LHR - they "went forward" by putting their ATIS on an 8.33 Khz frequency but still haven't got a phone number for it.

We clog up their clearance delivery frequency by having to ask for the required info before start.

This extremely useful free offering from Orbifly MetMap has most of the information.

Just hover your mouse over any airfield to see present METAR with decode and phone number for the ATIS in most cases.

Change a tab for the TAF. It has every airfield in the world as far as I know - extremely useful.
