Hey,
My resources are leaving me short. How do you solve for TAT? Here is the conditions:

Indicated Air Temp: 10C
TAS: 300kts
Temp. Recovery. Coef.: 1.0

Determine TAT

I have a CX-2(electronic) at my disposal, but no old school wheel left.

If I tell you the answer you'll soon forget it again. If you find it for yourself you'll remember it better. All you'll ever need to know is to be found here (http://williams.best.vwh.net/avform.html#Mach).

The conversion formula you need is found under bullet point thirteen in the contents list - Mach numbers, true vs calibrated airspeeds etc.

IAT = OAT = ...... etc.

Good luck with developing your navigation skills - you can't overdo it. Today you have no "old school wheel." Tomorrow it may be the SatNav that lets you down... ;)

If you know your Indicated Air Temperature (which you do) and your Temperature Recovery Coefficient = 1.0 (which it is), then -

TAT = Indicated Air Temperature

Now, if you were talking about SAT in place of IOAT, or your Temperature Recovery Coefficient was not equal to 1.0, that's a different matter altogether.
