Hi, I am an avid HF listener and often track flights from leaving UK airspace on VHF and SBS-1. Once out of radio range on VHF I then listen to them make contact with 'Shannon' control on my 2 Icom 71E HF receivers!
One of the terms I do not understand and cannot find anywhere is "C P T L C" spoken normal and not phonetically! I may have those letters mixed up but I don't think so :confused: Any crew or tin pushers shed any light?

Regards, Steve

Close! It is CPDLC and you can read about it here (http://members.optusnet.com.au/~cjr/CPDLC.htm).

Superb :D Thanks very much for the answer and the link! That has answered everything for me! Sadly it looks like I'd better enjoy HF comms while I can as it may well soon be a thing of the past :{
