BAA chief executive confident in future of airports
29 October 2001
Announcing BAA's interim results today, chief executive Mike Hodgkinson, expressed confidence in the future of airports. He said:
"Although the aviation industry is currently experiencing significant disruption to passenger volumes, we are confident that, in the future, growth will return to those markets currently depressed. Passenger traffic has initially fallen less sharply in percentage terms than it did in the Gulf War but it is impossible to predict the length and profile of the dip."
"Passenger traffic has initially fallen less sharply in percentage terms than it did in the Gulf War" - thats not really the story Im getting from my management team, who were until Sep 11th facing calls for 25% pay rises...........<scales fall from the eyes>
