A friend is a teacher (former pilot) and he asked me to give a general talk in front of his class on Monday morning. The class is "Aviation Career Mgmt". I'm generally familiar with which types of flight operations require a 4-year college degree, and plan to give general info on my background, but some of the students have interests in ATC etc.

But what is the basic requirement for controllers? I have no idea, but am interested in explaining the advantages of being a controller, and a bit about what is required.
Any simple, fairly specific information would be appreciated.

These students are in a public high school, and as a pilot, other than having people now and then to the c0ckp1t, I have only spoken to fourth graders (age 9) many years ago in their classroom.
Thanks.

You can go to the FAA's web site and find all the requirements... WWW.FAA.gov
