On the Air Europa official web site there is a confirmation of the above news but it is unclear if they are closing down the whole ATP operation or only those routes.
Anybody knows something else about this?, I have personal friends there that I am unable to contact at the moment.

A mate on the 767/757 called this morning;

Air Europa “Express” ended operations this morning at 0001 local time, all the ATPs will be returned to the leasing company.

The civil aviation authority announced that it would sanction the parent company Air Europa for not giving two month notice.

All the 757s , 6 in total flying for Iberia with AEA crews are to be returned to the leasing companies too.

That leaves Air Europa with 23 737s and 3 767s

Seniority lists were sent today via email, fax, etc. Redundancies will affect all the ATP crews, around 180, Captains and FOs and another 70 first officers from the 73/75/76.

300 have been spared.
