Hi Guys

Sorry (very sorry) to ask this question as its probably been asked somewhere else on this site.

This seems the best thread to ask as most you guys are pretty clued up.

I've not beeb flying for around 6 years and checked my PPL and noticed my 5 years was up on the 1st September 06, how painful is this?:{

Can someone please just give me some idea what I've go to do to become current again in the CAA's eyes.

Thanks all in advance

Err. . I think you need a LPC every year. .:confused:

1. Obtain a JAA Class 2 medical.

2. Pass a SEP Class Rating Renewal LST with a UK/FE(PPL) Examiner. You will probably need to do some refresher training first.

3. Send to the CAA: Form SRG\1102 (for your licence re-issue), Form SRG\1119 (for your SEP Class Rating renewal) and Form SRG\1187 (for the fees), together with your personal flying log book(s) and old PPL.

Correct. No written exams.

You will be expected to answer some oral questions during the Renewal LST. Note that the test format is not the same as the initial PPL Skill Test - it should take no more than about 1:30 at the most. More likely (if planned carefully by the FE), nearer to 1:00.
