Hi,

Apologies if this is in the wrong section. However I'm reviewing pilot recruitment and wonder if someone could give me an indication of the number of crews an airline will have in relation the size of the fleet?

Any info would be most useful.

Many thanks :ok:

The ratio in our airline is roughly about 1:5 - 1 airplane - 5 crews (=10 pilots).
We have about 54 aircraft now - and little over 500 pilots.

But a lot depends on your kind of operation. Is it short-, medium- or long haul. Are the flights 24 hours - or only during day (night-) time, ....

Good luck for your research - let us know the outcome!

Eli

Apparently the world average for airliners is 7 crews per aircraft.
