What is the total amount of pilot jobs to be cut at all airlines world wide. Is the percentage proportional to all departments, or not? If it is, does it mean that United and American are each going to furlough +2000 pilots? I hope this is not the case. Anyone with concrete info let us know.

Do you really think anybody can answer any part of a cockamammy question like that? Even God would have trouble answering that! Would be a good idea to read the writing that comes up when you access the forum.

Let the dust settle for 30 -60 days and there may be a better indication.

At the present time, it should be obvious that it is just too hard to accurately make any predictions at all.

Look at the other related posts.

MD11,

AA, for instance, has placed 386 of their own line pilots on furlough, plus an additional 120 on the TWA seniority list. This is 3-4% of their cockpit crew staffing.

Cheers, AO

The good news is that 'Caledonian Wings', Scotlands first and only airline has vowed not to sack any pilots or cabin staff during the current crisis. A spokesman for the mysterious 'Goober'declared that not employing any cockpit or cabin crew was part of a master plan to save costs. At considerable personal cost to his reputation, the Goober has tried to inject some levity into the somber Pprune forums by describing himself in his profile as, wait for it.....a labour relations specialist!!!! :D :p :D
