A civil Lockheed C-130 of an Algerian operator crashed in Italy earlier this evening (about 20:20 local time - UTC+2). The aircraft crashed in the outskirts of Piacenza, a town in Northern Italy.
The crew of three died in the crash. There were no fatalities or any damage to ground structures.
According to media reports, the aircraft had left Algiers at 18:12 and it should have landed in Frankfurt at 21:23.

A communiqué (http://www.ansv.it/It/Detail.asp?ID=682) of the Italian aircraft accident investigation board (Agenzia Nazionale per la Sicurezza del Volo, ANSV) confirms that the aircraft is 7T-VHG of Air Algerie.
Media reports also disclosed the names of the crew members.
