I'm about to start training someone who already has an FAA MEL for a JAR MEPL rating but I can't find whether they need the full syllabus or "training to meet standard" - I think I recall something about needing 100 hours ME to avoid the full syllabus but I may have dreamt that.
Can someone point me at the relevant para in LASORS? (I have looked!)

All they need to do is pass the MEP Skill test and written examination at an approved FTO.
LASORS Section F 9.1Applicants wishing to gain a MEP Class Rating who
hold a valid non-JAA MEP Class Rating but who do not
meet the experience requirements in items i) or ii)
above will be required to attend an approved FTO and
complete training at the discretion of the Head of
Training. Applicants will be required to pass a written
theoretical knowledge examination and a Skill Test as
well as meeting the experience requirement of item iv)
and the requirements of item v) if applicable.

Thanks Whopity! Although it's under such an obvious title I don't know why I didn't find it - blind as well as senile according to Mrs HFD :)
