Can anyone explain why some of the BA 737 and 757 fleets have black chin straps (like this (http://www.airliners.net/open.file?id=1086433&WxsIERv=Obrvat%20757-236&Wm=1&WdsYXMg=Oevgvfu%20Nvejnlf&QtODMg=Ybaqba%20-%20Urnguebj%20%28YUE%20%2F%20RTYY%29&ERDLTkt=HX%20-%20Ratynaq&ktODMp=Whyl%2021%2C%202006&BP=1&WNEb25u=Wbua%20Gubzcfba&xsIERvdWdsY=T-PCRA&MgTUQtODMgKE=&YXMgTUQtODMgKERD=770&NEb25uZWxs=2006-07-30%2009%3A11%3A51&ODJ9dvCE=&O89Dcjdg=28666%2F751&static=yes&width=1024&height=708&sok=JURER%20%20%28nveyvar%20YVXR%20%27Oevgvfu%20Nvejnlf%25%2 7%20BE%20nveyvar%20YVXR%20%27Oevgvfu%20Nfvn%20Nvejnlf%25%27% 20BE%20nveyvar%20YVXR%20%27Nve%20Senapr%20%2F%20Oevgvfu%20Nv ejnlf%25%27%20BE%20nveyvar%20YVXR%20%27Hagvgyrq%20%28Oevgvfu %20Nvejnlf%25%27%20BE%20nveyvar%20YVXR%20%27Abegurnfg%20Nvey varf%20%28Oevgvfu%20Nvejnlf%29%25%27%29%20%20BEQRE%20OL%20cu bgb_vq%20QRFP&photo_nr=50&prev_id=1086434&next_id=1086242)) on the nose cones?

As far as I know and have been lead to believe the black lines mean they have MLS fitted.

It's some sort of static bonding for the radome. The old MLS colour scheme has long since passed.

Thanks for your replies guys.

CM, seems a strange form of static bonding to me. Any idea how that would work
