Hello PPRUNERS

First post so be gentle please..

Am currently studying for my PPL and about to take my Air Law exam within the next few days.

I've been attempting to find more information on Special VFR which according to the "Air Pilots Manual" is listed in AIP AD 2-22. When I (eventually) managed to log-in to the AIS website I found the correct document listed but no link to download it:sad:

Anyone know of an alternative download location or have a PDF copy I could have to help continue my revision?

Thanks for any help!

Andy

I can't help you with a URL but it's possible you are confusing what you call "special VFR routes" with SVFR (Special VFR) which is a somewhat unusual method which (basically) enables a plain PPL holder to enter Class A airspace.

There are some "VFR routes" shown on the CAA charts but these are merely recommendations; in Class G airspace you can fly more or less anywhere.

AD 2-22 is a subsection to the AD (aerodrome) information.

Find yourself an AD with a section AD 2.22 (White Waltham/Fairoaks maybe) and fill your boots. ;)

See HERE (http://www.ais.org.uk/aes/pubs/aip/pdf/aerodromes/302LM01.PDF) for example. <--- is White Waltham entry

THIS (http://www.ais.org.uk/aes/pubs/aip/pdf/aerodromes/302TF01.PDF) is the Fairoaks one.

Since your name implies Denham, HERE (http://www.ais.org.uk/aes/pubs/aip/pdf/aerodromes/302LD01.PDF) is the Denham entry.

Page 3 or 4 of all those PDFs...

Will have another browse through the AIS AD section

You did notice the links in my previous post I assume? You should be able to click them, login to AIS, and read...
